  i would like to share my brief experience about my life from liberal jw to a ex-jw.

  as i told you in my first post, i'm from juarez, mexico.

  i'm second generation born-in, well not really... my mother knew jwland in 1968 and a year later, she got baptized.

  For the last few years I have been relearning my math and physics to help my children.

  That's the best one can do. Learning what makes us feel good. And I'm sure your kids are making you proud with their develop.

  When I was around 15 years old, during the family study, after we read the article that changed the meaning of TFDS from all 144000 to the GB (something that I had anticipated since I was 13, but had kept to me as apostate thinking) I said to my parents:

  "If brother Russel was ressurected today he surely wouldn't recognize the movement he started today"

  Well, to my surprise, now I say:

  I don't recognize the religion I was born in.

  First of all this simplified version was a good idea until they decided there would be only the simplified version. The articles, which were becoming even more empty of logic, sentiment and reasoning with the years had a drastic fall with this change. The reasons seem to be clearly because they need people of this level of intelectual demand and reasoning to keep the religion. These poor articles don't attract the attention of well educated people at all and this way the criticism will be fewer. (actually this is a great enterpenour move. Not so good from the 'God's channell). The other reason may be that they are lacking good writers as they had back in 60s 70s (people that I only know by name because of RF book) and the current writers have no skills or the GB just got lazier.

  Jehovah might stop blessing the congregation with his holy spirit, and the congregation would not have peace.
  

  It's interesting that this has created such a paranoic enviromental among the JWs here. Every time something goes bad (low assistance to the meetings, low rate of biblic studies or hours in the field, plenty of fights among brothers or sisters) they start to think "who is the motherf*cker who is sinning this time?". Ironically they have this idea even if the problem is sucessive disfellowshippings, something that according to them should please God since they are "cleanning the congregation".

  I'm hating myself for being bothered for something that isn't against my principles. But the reason that I and others are this is mainly because we were told this was unthinkable 10 years ago.

  Also, because my tiny hope that the GB would change something about the protecionism is shrinking as they are even more looking like evengelicals in their procedures, but the important things they should copy they don't even look at ( disfellowshipping, only true religion, two classes of christians etc.)

  There's something interesting about this issue on the songs that is similar to what happened here in Brazil. Here all the evangelicals have the custom of saying "peace of the Lord" to other evangelicals as a greeting. There's obviously nothing wrong in this but just because this was a "mark" of the evangelicals we were severely but indirectly reprimed from doing so.

  Well, after that I don't know anymore.

  Did a current or ex-JW help you to awaken?

  was there something that was said to you that got the wheel turning in your brain, that caused you to start waking up to ttatt, either by a jw or ex-jw that you didn't know was awake?

  i'm trying to think of things i can say or ask of my current family members still in that may help them to start seeing the real truth about the organization.

  I really doubt in this cyber-age with internet and all that there's many witnesses who never came across anythings that put in check the bases for the GB allegations. As jp said, the Truth isn't the reason they are in, despite they will claim it is until death.

  Is the org. Like Jehovah or Jesus?

  this is jehovah's org.

  so now let's take a look at jehovah's character, he gets angry yet he forgives sometimes a lot sometimes not so much but got to admit, he always sent a warning.

  The Org is actually much like the Mosaic law, and they are not ashamed to admit it. You can see they make more comparisons on their procedures with the old mosaic Law, even though they know and they teach that Jesus was the end of the Law.

  Episode of Night Shift July 13th Episode

  did anyone watch this night shift episode last night?

  the teenagers grandfather was a jw.

  the granddaughter wanted a large growth on her face removed but lied to the doctors about her age (she was 16).

  As a fan of House m.d I always wondered how would be an episode on the blood issue. I actually think they must've had a good reason for not doing so.

  I imagine that the episodr would be the cliché "patient needs blood but is JW so says no, House threats, destructs his/her beliefs, everything leads to the patient death but in the end he/she lives"

  what I think could be different is if House after all got to convince him/her to take blood but actually had alrady figured out a way to do the procedure no blood. Then he would throw on everybody faces how the doctrine is ridiculous. Maybe they could make an ending with the patient actually taking Blood but House agreeing to lie in the files in order to the elders not disfellowship her, and showig how the process is passive of hypocrisy.

  I was born in it too. I also don't understand how 'wordly' people go to a convention that depicts them as the trash of the creation and feel like wanting to stay there a little longer.

  I also say it sometimes to friends of mine. They usually laugh but they don't answer it.
